What is an Essential Care Partner?
Essential Care Partners (ECP), often referred to as caregivers, play a critical role in providing unpaid physical, psychological, emotional, and or decision making support to their family member, partner, or friend. Additionally, ECPs are recognized as part of the care team and can play an active role in supporting care decisions and transitions.
There are 4 million caregivers in Ontario - people caring for caring for family members, partners, friends, and neighbours.
